My garage is full. Do I have to empty it completely?

Not completely, but everything that can be moved does need to be out before we start, and that part is down to you. What is fixed in place stays: bolted cabinets, shelving and a built-in bench are coated up to and finished on a clean edge. Which is which gets agreed at the site visit, so you know exactly what has to be cleared rather than finding out on the day.

I drop tools on this floor. Will it chip?

A flake floor is not a coat of paint. It is a base coat, a full broadcast of vinyl flake and a polyaspartic sealer over the top, which builds real thickness and takes an impact far better than bare concrete or a single-part garage paint. It is not indestructible, and neither is the slab under it, but dropping a socket set on it is a normal Tuesday rather than a repair.

There is a fridge and a freezer running in there. Is that a problem?

No. They need to be off the floor while it is being done, and back on afterward once it has cured enough to take the weight, which is a day or two rather than a week. Tell us at the site visit and we will build it into the sequence so nothing sits unplugged longer than it has to.

Can you do the third bay or the workshop end as well?

Yes, and it is usually cheaper per square foot to do it in the same visit than to come back for it later. It takes the same system as the parking bays. If you want the workshop end in a different flake blend to mark it out, that is possible too, and both blends are priced on the same quote.

How soon can I use it again, and what moves the price?

Walk on it the next day, park on it the day after. The baseline is square footage. On top of that, the things that change the number are repairs to cracks and patches, stripping off any old paint or sealer, adding a third bay or a workshop end, and how much fixed storage the floor has to be finished around. It all lands in one fixed quote once we have seen the garage.

Concord Garage Floor Coatings Overview

What a Working Concord Garage Needs

Fixed cabinets and benches stay put

Takes what a working garage drops

Sockets, wrenches, bike pedals, a paint can. Flake set into a base coat and sealed under polyaspartic is a thick, hard surface, not a film of paint, so a dropped tool leaves the floor looking like a floor.

Oil, coolant and brake fluid wipe off

Bare concrete drinks whatever leaks onto it and keeps the stain permanently. A sealed floor has nowhere for it to go, so a spill sits on the surface until you wipe it up, and the mark goes with it.

It stops making dust

An uncoated slab sheds fine gray powder onto everything stored on it, which is why the boxes on the bottom shelf are always dirty. Sealing the surface stops it, and the floor sweeps rather than needing to be hosed.

Brighter to work in

A gloss finish throws the light from a single ceiling fixture back into the room instead of soaking it up. In a garage with one window or none, the difference when you are working at the bench is worth having.

Third bays, side bays and shop ends

Plenty of Concord garages run to a third bay or a workshop end past the parking. It takes the same system as the rest of the floor, quoted by the square foot, rather than being treated as a separate job.

How Your Concord Install Runs

Site visit and a plan for the contents. We measure the garage, look over the slab, and go through what is bolted down and what you will need to clear out before the day. Diamond grinding and repairs. The slab is diamond ground with extraction running the whole time, so the dust is collected rather than left in the room. Cracks, spalled patches and redundant anchor holes are filled and brought level before any coating goes down.
Base coat and flake broadcast. The base coat goes down and the flake is broadcast into it while it is still wet, worked to refusal so the color bed is even across the whole slab instead of heavier in some places than others.
Clear top coat. The excess flake comes back off and the clear sealer goes over the top, brought to the gloss and grip level you selected on the day.
Handover. We hand over written cure times for walking and for parking, a maintenance routine using ordinary household products, and your warranty document listing the system that was installed.
